If you dare want to be a good tattooist then here are primary tips that will jump start you.

A tattooist is impartial

Age, gender and locality are no bar to being a successful tattooist.

Tattooist - Why be one?

Well, should your answer be something along the lines of wanting more money, and then I have news for you. That puts you in a very low-class clique that comprises just about every Dick, Tom and Harry!  Everyone one needs money.  The richest and poorest in the world alike are thirsty for money.  If you do not understand your real motivation, love, then the chances are high that you will never triumph.   

A tattooist is dynamic

Do not stand still and hope things will happen on their own.  If you are such an individual who fantasizes tattooing by visiting and watching tattoo biased activities with a notion of doing one day without the day reaching then you are non-starter.  Do not be a procrastinator.

A tattooist must acquire artistic skills

Apart from being in-born, drawing skills can be gotten through formal training.  Creative or fine art does not grow on its own but through practice.  The practicing can be done so by becoming an apprentice.  Apprenticeship is the contract of being under trainer to acquire the desired skills until the trainer fill that it right to let you go and be on own.  It is not easy and does not take short span of duration. A tattooist learns through challenges.

A tattooist commands positive attitude

You must have the correct mental attitude to be an artiste.  Without that attitude you will almost certainly doom your efforts to failure. And, the key to the correct attitude is to treat what you’re doing as treasure.  Not a hobby that you indulge in from time to time with the mood resonance.

A tattooist seeks for model or mentor or idol

All of us have people in our lives that are driving forces to aid us achieve specific goals. Unfortunately, whilst finding a mentor is a very sensible tactic that will definitely help you to be successful, it is not always that easy to find someone of suitable experience who would be willing to mentor you in person due to the fright of competition.  Do not fret; your trainer as an apprentice can be one.

A tattooist plans his or her time and works well

Any one who does not plan, plans to fail.  Plan all in intend to do all term achievement and break them as mini – plans adoptable on daily basis to move forward objectively.  Plans should be demarcated be hard tasks and easily tasks.  At the end of each day, way the variances and research on ways to improve on negative variances at mini-plan level.

A tattooist invests in art and future

Nothing is in tattooing industry is gotten in silver platter.  You must set aside time and money for skills, setting up a lab or studio, acquiring equipments, attending seminars and workshops, visiting exhibits or call it conventions.  All these sum up to your investment as entity.

A tattooist is endowed with patience and perseverance

Patience and perseverance are twin virtues that bring blessings to a tattooist.  Being patient means remaining hopeful when your anticipation seem to be doomed and your difficulties pile up.  Perseverance is sticking at a task when you know you ought to be doing even though you do not see the results you are looking for.  You will have to practice the two so much in all aspects.  For instance, during the apprenticeship your trainer will seem to mock you when you begin by serving the tattoo machine, tattooing on dead turkeys and even drawing given art pieces repetitively.  It is not pleasing but that is the way to head to success one coming day to be a good tattooist.
